Apple Security works closely with its shopping centre clients to ensure they get exactly the right level of security for their premises. Often centres want a low key but visible security presence, to help shoppers feel safe and increase the attractiveness of the centre.

When problems do occur, they need to be resolved quickly and decisively. Apple Security’s teams are experts at working with centre management to fix security problems effectively.

 

Shopping centre in Aylesbury

The centre was suffering from gangs of youths congregating inside. They were causing disturbances and discouraging shoppers.

Apple Security worked with the centre management to re-design the areas where youths were congregating, making them less attractive to the gangs, but without damaging their impact on shoppers. CCTV monitoring was improved, and security patrols executed a rapid response strategy on the first sign of a build up of youths. An exclusion policy was also developed with centre management.

Apple Security recognised that the problem was best tackled in the long-term with a preventative approach. So it worked with local youth organisations, clubs and schools to explain the issue and help youths find more suitable alternative areas to go.
